The line for the free shuttle that we got into at 7:30 am seemed crazy, but it wasn't really too long before we were off and running. We did get off before the Convention center because the traffic was crazy.

District 9 van. What is it for??? District 9 is new movie produced by Peter Jackson about aliens quarantined in South Africa. Sounds intriguing.

Imperial Storm Trooper, Death Star officer guy, and me.

5 time Oscar winner Richard Taylor, head of Weta Workshop, at TheOneRing.net Hobbit movies panel. Plus, a video message from the director Guillermo Del Toro. Andy Serkis, Ian McKellen, and Hugo Weaving are all but formally signed on. The two main Tolkien artists John Howe and Alan Lee and composer Howard Shore are also back on board. Peter Jackson is producing and writing along with the other writers from LOTR. Then Richard did a presentation on what's been going on at Weta. Very awesome.

Milling people.

Picture from the 5 minutes I was on the exhibit hall floor. Crazy crowded. Plus we were too busy with panels.

Alice in Wonderland Group costume.

Happened upon a panel waiting for another one that featured the new movie Quantum Quest which will feature animation along with real images from NASA space missions. Lots of scifi voices included Robert Picardo (pictured, The Doctor from Star Trek: Voyager). They also had Chris Pince (New Cpt. Kirk) talk to us via phone. It will also feature the voices of William Shatner, James Earl Jones, Mark Hammill, Hayden Cristiansen, and Neil Armstrong. It sounds pretty neat actually.

Ballroom 20 crowd behind us.

Ballroom 20 crowd ahead of us.

Eliza Dushku (Dollhouse), Sigourny Weaver, and Zoe Saldana (Star Trek's Uhura) at the Wonder Women: Icons of Pop Culture panel. They talked about women's roles in Sci-fi/Hollywood.

Signoury Weaver talked about playing Ripley in Alien which was originally written as a man.

Sigourny Weaver, Zoe Saldana, and Elizabeth Mitchell (Lost) at the Wonder Women panel.

Twilight fans waiting for the cast to exit.

Mystique from the X-men movies.

Watched a ship leaving while we were outside waiting in line.

One of the Nissians, Heroes is giving away.

The girls that chased down Rob Pattison's SUV.

We were waiting in this insane line for James Cameron's Avatar but didn't make it in (most likely because of the crazy twihards) so we decided to go to the next panel instead eventhough we (or really I) wasn't that interested in it. It turned out ok though.

Director Terry Gilliam (Monty Python) at the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus, the movie with the last performance of Heath Ledger. Looks interesting, with good people. Not so sure about the storyline. The visuals were entertaining.

Vern Troyer (played Mini Me) at Dr. Parnassus.

District 9 marketing.

Gas lamp district.

Dr. Horrible and I, but we didn't make it into the screening. Not too upset about that one.

San Diego at night.

Tom outside the Con.

Heading back to the shuttle.

Watching a crazy newscast now. The weather man is especially wacko. Tom's asleep and Elizabeth and Scott are waiting patiently for food to finally be delivered.

Plans for tomorrow: Battlestar/Caprica, The Big Bang Theory, and District 9 if we can brave the line for Hall H again.
